I'll put the thread up then guys
Right details of the next meet just to clarify for everyone
Date: Sunday 29th March 2009
Location: The Taybarn Pub Barnsley
Meet at the pub for 1pm and for those that are hungery food is available/
Then around 2:30pm (or once everyone is ready) take a trip to the Lady Bower Reservoir via the A616 and the country lanes that join it to the A57. It should be about a 45min journey.
For those not aware of the area the A616 has got a lot of averaging speed cameras along the stretches of road with HGV Crawler lanes. These are NOT dual carriageways so a 60MPH limit applies, I Know a lot of people that have got caught doing 70MPH thinking that its a dual carriageway as there are two lanes...but its not.
Then once off the A57 onto the road that runs along side the reservoir there are a lot of small car parks and laybys along the way which we can park up in and take some good photos with the lake in the back ground. There is also a visitor centre at the end of the road but the car park for this is pay and display (although not expensive and all others are free). General refreshments are available at the visitors centre and from there it is a short walk to the Howden Reservoir Dam where there is in fact a small Dam Busters museum if anyone is interested
Then on the way back people can either go back the windy roads or follow me along the A57 into Sheffield towards the M1 J33 but this is through the city centre.
A list of names so that we have a rough idea for numbers
1. A5TRA 59ORT (Arriving around 2pm)
