    Alternative options?

Ok i have nearly finished my centre console to house a double din headunit.
I am having some problems that one area is weak and it cant be strengthened anymore - side of the headunit where i have had to cut.
Painting it is becoming an option that i cant use.

    What else could i do?

Please note its far better now this was in its (during stage)but you can probably see better here were the issue lies. i have used plastic to attach the two parts as a connector in effect but it keeps on cracking with a hairline crack, i dont want ot paint as it will look poor.

Yeah that might look good Nick. Know where i might get that done?

Munkie, its far better than that now, just keep getting hairline cracks so would rather not paint it prefer ot get it dipped as suggested or covered somehow

What have you been using to smooth bits off and join bits etc? P20? Fibreglass compound then filler to tidy things up??

What you need mate is fibreglass matting and resin, This will join the two parts together where it cracks then you can sand it and use a skim of filler just to tidy things up

sounds like a trick one altho ive found ispoon p20 to be absolutelly rock solid you could try packing the back of it with that and smooth of the front with filler. as for a finish alcantara could be good or you could flock it or depending how adventurous you feeling you could rap it in a faux leather?? not show how that would look but theres only one way to find out
