    Painted boot badge/s ... yay/nay?

Asked this before, but people only seem to have done the griffin & nobody seemed to be able to photoshop me the "Vauxhall" & "Astra" badges so i could see what it looks like.

Had some paint left over from doing the bonnet lifters so yesterday i gave 1 coat of primer & 1 coat of paint on my old badge just to get an idea of how it'd look. Picked the "Astra" badge at random

Anyway, a very good reason for this...

You might know that when i de-badged the car last year, it left fine scratches in the paintwork, so it leaves me with 4 options

OPTION 1: leave the car as it is with the fine scratches on show

OPTION 2: Re-badge with normal badges (not a fan of this one, hence the de-badging in the 1st place)

OPTION 3: respray @ a cost of £180 quoted last year, so whatever that fee would be now. If you're happy to paypal me the funds, i'll go this route

OPTION 4: paint some badges the colour of the car & THEN re-badge

What you think? (oh, & incase it wasn't clear, option 3 isn't a realistic option )

The lovely scratches close up. Must admit it doesn't look anywhere near as bad at a distance:

Great professional job done on the badge lol:

Ha, i was ready for it to get panned from the off there, especially when i read your "to be honest" lol.

I actually thought it might not be too bad (imo) when i saw it on a blue clio funnily enough. There's that dark shade of blue/purple Clio on around the 2001 plate i think, if you can picture the colour i mean? And i saw a guy round here who had trashed his car, but had painted the badges black & i was surprised at it not looking totally rediculous (imo)

The down side is, as i can't be arsed with putting trim repair tape on the original badges & then cutting off the excess to fit, which would be such a faff, each badge costs about £7.50 IIRC on eBay, so that's £22.50 just for the badges.

As my younger brother would say ..... 'gay'!!

Aye i would've done just the griffin if the paintwork hadn't been scratched when de-badging.

I tell you, i'll never have another black car again if i can help it. Lovely when freshly polished, but a nightmare for 99% of the time you own it.
