Hi there, I've recently purchased a 2006 Astra SRi 1.9 CDTi 150 and its generally pretty great.
I've noticed though that there seems to be a large-ish puff of blue smoke on start up from cold each morning.
It clears more or less straight away and the engine runs smoothly but I'm just a little worried something is possibly wrong.
The engine has done 43k and was last serviced at 36k about 9 months ago, well before I took delivery of it.
Another thing is that I'm a little worried that that the engine is a little louder and more clattery than it should be (my Missus has just got a 1.9 8v CDTi Signum and it sounds far quieter)
I'm considering servicing the car pretty soon and will replace the filter and oil with fully synthetic 5w 30 and will probably look at cleaning the EGR valve too... will this help in sorting matters or should I consider getting something else looked at?
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
