    brake problem advice needed please

    i own a 2000/xreg astra coupe 1.8 16v, and i need to no whitch make of brake caliper my car has, ive bin told there are to makes for my model astra, ive hade a look an ther is no make on it, so if anybody can tell me the make of my back brake caliper so i can order a new one thanks.

    If u mean front then they are all ATE

    If however u mean rear then BOSCH were fitted to early models and have 4 ridges across them running from inside to outside. . . later models used LUCAS and in comparison the caliper bodies were smooth.

    Considering its an early model I.d guess on it havin BOSCH but a quick look through the wheels will confirm

    brakes

    thanks m8. yes it is the back caliper im on about. its a late 2000/xreg so it could be any, when i find out wiych one i need, will i be able to change it myself? thanks again martin.

    you'l need a rewind tool to push the pistons back in the callipers. if you search for "rewind tool" im sure you'l find a thread which explains what they are and how to use em

    I have a 2000 W reg, and it has Bosch calipers on it, it actually says bosch on them!

    On an X plate you will have Bosch calipers, and you also need a torx socket to remove them (can't remember what size though).
