Firstly here's my situation: Astra H 06 Sxi. 3yrs old on March 4th 09 therefore now out of warranty. A faulty CIM unit has now been diagnosed/replaced twice, most recently in February 09.
It has now developed a strange intermittent fault where simply turning the steering wheel will skip/rewind the currently playing track. Usually when straightening back up playing will continue ok.
Also the horn/airbag in the middle of the steering wheel is now wobbly and probably related to the fault.
I'm sure the problem will again be due to a faulty/badly fitted CIM again and it should be covered under vauxhalls part guarantee.
The car is going into the dealer on Wednesday this week to be diagnosed and hopefully they will just fix it.
How likely is it that this repair won't cost me anything? - bearing in mind that the CIM has been replaced twice already. I fear that they are going to blame it on another part (wiring loom or whatever) and thus not fix the problem for me.
Do I have any rights to make sure this problems is fixed, since it first arose when the vehicle was under warranty.
I'd appreciate any advice anyone can give me - I just want to be ready for them when they fob me off with crap and or try to bill me.
Thanks in advance!
