Cheapest way to improve sound quality ?

Just purchased a 57 plate Astra Sri,

Compared to my previous car the Stereo isn't great - it has a CD30

Don't want to spend loads, don't want to install a subwoofer etc !

Whats the cheapest way of improving overall sound quality ?

    cheers

You dont really get quality for cheap! How ever, find out the size of the speakers and by aftermarket ones of the same size, that way no cutting amending etc just diretc replacement!

    lol - true !

I guess I meant 'how much would i have too spend too see an improvement to the original equipment?'

Also replacing which speakers would make the biggest difference ?

Leave the tweeters, change the fronts first then next pay day do the backs!!!

Then ideally to feel the full benefit and improve the sound quality change the head unit, unless you want to keep that oem look.

Sound deaden the hell out of where the speakers are get some good midbass then

Look for Ivanhoe Sound deadening, you can get 40 sq ft for like £45 and thats enough to do the doors several times over

I have the CD30 Mp3 which i pressume yours? Or should be? I didnt think it was too bad just lacked volume and bass so I added a Vibe sub with built in amp which cost me £150 and its made a hell of a difference, well worth it imo! Jx

I think changing the headunit is the only way for a real improvement in sound quality, A new headunit in a 1994 mk3 astra with standard speakers sounds better than a std system in a mk5 with cd30mp3.

However this is at sacrifice from double din to a single din facia adaptor, With piano black this will just look pants though. Double Din? Well you mentioned cheap so that's out of the window! for me also!
