Check the sticky at the top of this section!

150bhp can be done but darn you have to spend a fortune. 135-140 is a more sensible goal for this engine. Bear in mind that to reach the higher bhp figures you generally lose low down torque and this is usually more useful to you than massive bhp figures at the high end of the rev range.

    It's achievable

    But you'd be looking at:-

-Breather mods like the vectra intake, panel filter, catback exhaust system, and something like a mantzel power box
-Some quite lairy Cams too, not sure whether you'd need pocketed pistons or not
    -A good remap

Should see in the region of 140 upwards

Intake mods - £15 for Vectra pipe etc, £35 or so for panel filter
You'd probably need a full manifold and sports cat exhaust setup so likely well over £500
Cams - £500 or more for full kit plus fitting so likely £1000
Remap - £300 upwards for live remap
Inlet manifold - something like the DBilas one is £1000...

    So easily over £3000...

150bhp. You'll need a better crankshaft if you intend on running 150BHP.

For £1500 you could get a bigger engine, something like an X20XEV, with all its running ancillaries and they have something like 136bhp as standard, put all the mods on like your exhaust, vectra intake, panel filter, that'd be near enough on 150bhp then

For £1500 I'd stick to cams and exhaust mods. Inlet manifold stuff will be out of budget, you might just squeeze in a sports cat and manifold too if you're lucky...I'd rather remap than sports cat stuff myself though.

You may well see 130-135bhp if you're lucky with a good engine.
