    A few possible problems?

Right the first possible problem is, after reading about the 'pedal test' I gave it a go on my 1.8 2001 astra coupe and it's come up with P0170 which is Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1), the engine management light isn't on and hasn't come on in the 3 weeks I have owned the car, so is it something I should be worried about, and if so what could it be?

The next possible problem is the temp gauge is only working sometimes. I go for a drive and it doesn't move, but if I turn the engine off and back on the gauge goes straight to around 80 (about a quarter the way up). I'm guessing this inst the thermostat and may be a sensor problem, and if so where would it be located? If im honest I haven't looked for the sensor or the thermistat yet, but I cant find a coupe manual so any clues where to find them?

    Thanks

If you dont have the EML coming on then that must be an old code,so dont worry..
As for the temp gauge it could be the thermostat playing up or temp sensor..both are an easy fix on that engine I believe, alan
