    1.6 8v engine

    out of a R reg mk4 does anyone now if it will have a fuel return??
    need to now for redtop conversion, if not how easy is it to do one

    im pretty sure it will have some sort of a fuel return, and if it hasnt it wont be hard to run a pipe back to the fuel tank

    what would be involved in running a pipe back to the tank??

    and it has 2 pipes coming off the TB so im assuming it has a return to somewhere so would i not be able to use that?

    Stop worrying,you have a fuel return...all engines with fuel injection require it to return excess fuel back to tank from fuel pressure valve

    my 1.6 8 v didn't have a return from the engine it had this type


    what happens with this system is there's a regulator inside of the tank and when the system reaches its required pressure the fuel gets sent back up the pipe that's marked return.
    just take a look under the rear N/S of your car just in front of the rear wheel to see if yours looks like mine.
    if it does you need to remove the regulator from the tank and fit a return pipe from the engine bay to the petrol tank.
    removing the regulator is easy enough, all you got to do is remove the rear seat, get in to the tank and it will take you a few secs for you to spot the regulator and remove it.
