    What will happen if...?

What will happen if i change insurance companys now, midway through a policy?
Will i still get a years no claim?

My situation, is that I am carless, due to my astra being written off (not my fault)
My current insurance company will NOT insure me on the car I am considering to buy, although others will happily do it

I have 3 months left on my current policy, and I would like to buy a car A.S.A.P I do not want to wait another 3 months to be able to drive again

    Any advice?

you can end the policy within 12 months but you still have to pay the remainder of the policy

I ended my policy once when I got banned 8mths into the policy.
I got some money back but I did not get a years no claims.
What you have to weigh up is, will the 1year no claims make your insurance go down as much as the 3mths of paying it to get the bonus.

They wont give you a year's noclaims as you wouldnt have had a year with them claim fee.

Otherwise we would all be insuring the cheapest car possible and ending the policy within days to get a years no claims.
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

keep the insurance going for your astra. Take out a new policy elsewhere for your new car and then bolt on the further 1 years no claims when it ends

    Hi,

If you cancel a policy before the 12 month's are up you more then likely will not get the years NCB.

is the claim going through the third party insurer? you need to wait the whole 12months. also legaly once a car is written off the policy needs to change over to another car or it gets canceled.

Oh and with you being 9months in, you'll lose that 9 months and not get the NCB. I had this problem with DL after misinformed me and made me cancel a policy when I shouldn't have. Basically, if you wan your NCB, you'll have to see throught the last 3 months...
