    Calling IPF users!

I seem to remember seeing a post on here that i can't find!

Somebody mentioned after using the IPF their car accelerated when pressing the cruise control buttons.

Did you ever get it sorted? I have similar trouble. (Providing you see this post!)

    Cheers

which buttons, do you mean the cc button that adds 2 mph to your speed, mine changed after I got a ST1 map on the car 3 years ago, sinc then the button no longer adds 2 mph but add for as long as you hold it in, same with the slow down button

Mine is already like this, its running standard map.

If you hold the button down the car accelerates for as long as you hold it for then hold the speed once you stop pressing it.

When the button to set it is pressed just once the car just takes off!

It didn't do this before the IPF.

It seems to take off faster than i am able to do by putting my foot down too.

Regal are sorting this at the mo but i was hoping to find out how the other person sorted his issue.

If cruise is off and you press "I" it will set it up at the speed you are at, if it's off and you press "R" it will resume your last saved speed so if you press "R" and you were last doing 70mph using cruise and you just happen to be in 3rd gear it will throw you in your seat - it only feels faster as you're not expecting it when it happens...

    "O" turns it off.

When you are using cruise control "I" increases the speed 2 mph but if you hold it down it will go to redline as if you're pressing the accelerator

As above when you press "R" it will decrease 2mph if you hold it it will stop accelerating at all all the way down to 30mph or whatever at which stage it will disengage

I have no idea why you need Regal to look into it and surely them being the Vauxhall specialists they are then they ought to know??

I used to use this when I stopped at services on the motorway etc, if you were using cruise at 70 and you press the brake and go in the services then when you pull off and get in 3rd press the "R" and it'll go on it's own all the way to 70mph without using your feet at all LOL...

    I think you are misunderstanding:

When i press/tap the set button just once the car accelerates uncontrollably, not just up 2mph or until i let go but till the red line!

It is like the car isnt mapped at all when i use the accelerator but when i use the cruise control it feels far more powerful and a passenger confirmed this!

I think you need to read better LOL

If you press "R" when you were last doing 70mph it will take you back to 70mph in whatever gear you are in as long as you're doing more than 20mph so it can engage.. If you're doing 30 in 2nd and you press R it will redline the car until you change gear as it's trying to get to 70

P.s I'm using 70 as and example, if you were doing 80mph on the motorway and you hit some traffic so brake and drop down to say 45mph, as long as you leave it in 5th you can just leave your feet off the pedals and press "R" to Resume to 80mph no need to even use your feet, in an Auto you can press it in 2nd and it'll changes gears for you too until it gets there LOL

P.s all the cars I've had felt them same when using it, it accelerates quicker etc as there is no hesitation between the accelerator pedal and the TB as the speed is now controlled by the ECU only not your foot...

No his is not doing that.

This is what is happening if I am right.

Gets in the car turns car on. Starts driving upto say 30. Then he is pushing set cruise buton once and letting go. But instead of car doing 30 it goes does not hold speed it speeds up to redline
