    TURBO INA 1.6 8v?

Heya guys ive been toying with the idea to fit a turbo to my x16szr astra.
I was planning on using a T3 turbo welded onto my exhaust manifold with an external wastegate.
Ive read that you can run the oil using a T piece on your oil Pressure sending unit then straight out of the turbo in the oil pan.

Ive got no problem mapping my car myself but my only problem is i'm wondering if my internals would even be able to take a small boost... maybe 5-10psi?

or would i have to rebuild the engine/throttle housing to support the boost.

    Regards

    Dan

standard internals are good for 5-10psi, my mate has a standard 1.8 internals on his vectra and he is running 7psi and all is fine.

Cool thats good to know. I'm not gonna push it too hard without a rebuild.

I'm looking to get the 1.6 to the 150hp mark. would be my target EVENTUALLY lol

was gonna pump NO2 for the track aswell. but thats another story *wink*

Is it possible to put on a higher box then?
like a 6 speed or something?

Also do you know if a X16XE manifold will fit my x16szr engine?

Sorry for all the questions guys, just putting £1000 to the side now for the project! gonna be a hell of a sleeper!

not to sure if the manifold will fit, they are cheap enough to buy from a scrappy and see if it will fit, as for a higher box, a 6 speed won't fit without alot of work, as the 16szr is a small block, and the 6speed is for a big block.

okay cheers guys for all the help. I'm gonna go "ask the mechanic" what he thinks about changing over the boxes.

I wanna keep the engine around a 1.6 for insurance reasons!
a LET is looking cheaper now... Oh bugger me
