    help please (cooling issuse)

    hi all

    i have problems with the fan on my astra its not coming on and the car is getting to hot, i have changed the thermostat and the temp sensor in the stat and still no joy i hvw shorted the conector to the temp sensor and that brings the fan on!!!!

    some one surjested the coolant control module but i dont think it has one because it dosent have AC? i have removed the frontbumper as it says in the manual but cant find one

    any body any ideas ?? quite stuck what to do

    that car is a 1800 astra sport 1999 t plate

    I wonder if this is a faulty guage because the fan and it's relay is obviously working from shorting out the temp sensor and as you say you have already replaced that so what else can it be?

    had it on the code reader today and its got the fault 115 coolant temp sensor circuit malfunction, looked it up on autodata and it say the prob causes are faulty sensor, wiring probs, faulty ecu!!!

    after checking the wiring and testing the sensor its got to be the ecu?? what do you think?

    oh it defo dosent have the coolant control module because i have took the bumper off and its not there.
