    Elephant put up my insurace.

Last year I had6 years NCD and paid £240.
This year I have 7 years and have to pay £250.

    WTF?
I'm like a bad penny, old, dirty, and appears when not wanted.

My renewal with Elephant goes up every year. Paid £260 last year for Passat 1.9 TDi. Changed vehicle this year to Astra 1.8 SRi '08 and was quoted £564 to renew.
Now I do this every year - Submit new quote on website and it's always cheaper ! I did it again this year with 11 years no claims and a CU80 conviction. From £564 renewal to £283 ! They match the cheaper quote. Try it !

they are the same company!! i'm with more than, no change in policy and it went up £30. managed to get it back down with a few calls. could have got it cheaper, but more than don't give a shit about non-performance mods. any bodywork is fine, just engine and suspension they hate.

I don't think I EVER accept a renewal price whether it goes up or down. I always shop around every year and either move to a new/cheaper insurer or phone my existing one back with the lowest quote and ask them if they'll match. If you just accept a renewal and just pay it, yer daft! Just saved myself £165 recently with this method.

For most insurers 5 years is the maximum NCB they recognuise. So it doesn't matter if you have 6 years or 26 years you could already be at the maximum. Also taking into account rising insurance prices, it's not that surprising your premium has gone up slightly.

However, shopping around is always worthwhile.

It depends on where you got your insurance price from, i mean if you got your insurance quote on the internet the first year say, then they send you a renewal quote they will not give you the discounts you got on the internet price again. All i do is dno't renew the policy, take your years no-claims then start a new policy with the same company and you get all the discounts again.
But always shop around first though as stated above
