Re-fitting battery but power sounder keeps going off!

    Hi all,

My battery ran completely flat as I havent used my astra for quite a long time.

I took the battery out and charged it up, but when I connect it up again, the powersounder alarm keeps going off.

There are some signs under the bonnet indicating that I should look in the handbook for the correct procedure, but I cant find anything!

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,
    Alex

Ignition on then switch off, disconnect the battery within ten seconds of turning off the ignition. Put the new battery on connect and then start, that will turn off your siren

Thanks, but I'm afraid neither of your suggestions worked!

I left the ignition on then connected the battery and the alarm still went off.

I tried connecting the battery, switching the ignition on then off, disconnecting, then reconnecting, then starting up.

My local garage (not a vauxhall one) said it would go off when I closed the bonnet and doors. I did that and pressed the open and close buttons of the fob. The doors locked and unlocked ok (so at least the fobs working) but the alarm just kept going on and on.........arghh!

    My ears hurt now!
