Detail sort of done, just need to do the inside
Bloody hell that was a quick weekend.
I used mostly chemical guys stuff.
XXX Wax, Suds for the snow foam, Clean your car clay, the chemical guys clay lube, bilberrry wheel cleaner.
Before. Clean but could be alot better. I was very unhappy about the flat look of the sides of the car.
The bonnet had lots of tar and crap as did the roof and boot. In the cars 7 odd years on this earth it had never had anything done to these three.
I started the detail yesterday with the prep.
I snowfoamed the outside and began claying. Started to clay the bonnet and spent the next few hours cleaning that the amount of crap that was coming off there.
Look at this crap that came off the bonnet after claying:
The bonnet felt smooth as glass. I then had to go to a party
So then I started today again in the morning. I T-cut the wheels as the outer laquer had eroded over winter leaving streaks. This left very dull shade of anthractite but I Tcutted, used valet pro bilberry wheel wash, then turtle wax colour fast silver which gave them a nice shine and coat. In June I'll probably get them sand blasted and get a decent paint coat on them.
Anyhow yadda yadda yadda. Another snow foam coat, clayed the entire car and then applied Chemical Guys XXX Wax/
Here are the results:
After: Check out the before to see my desired look, note the lack of flat sides and it looks all shiney .
The great thing is if I wasnt so fat, I could slide very easily all over the car to get to the opposite side. It is so slippery.
Hopefully it decreases the drag co-efficient so I achieve a slightly quicker 0-60 time
