    engine fit??

    will a vectra gls 1.8 16v (x18xe1) fit in my mrk4 astra sport its the same engine code but worred bout buying it and it not fit. also dont want a problem with the ecu IS IT THE SAME ENGINE ? cheers joe

    off the top of my head, the drive belt setup is different,
    On vectra B's the power steering is driven off the drive belt.
    On mk4's they have an electric hydraulic steering/not driven on belt
    so you might need different alternator? tensioner? If you have you old engine? you can use the existing parts. e.g. alternator, belt, engine belt

    but there maybe be other differences but without looking at both hard to say. but the block and engine should be the same

    I have herd that the mount will need changing also the cambelt case
