Astra 1.7cdti (abs And Traction Lights)

    Hi Guys,

I have recently had the ABS and Triangle (Traction) light appear on my dash, this does not happen always but when it does the Speedo sometimes jumps brakes make a funny noise, does anybody know if this is a big problem or would I be able to fix it.

2006 Astra 1.7Cdti Sports Hatch With Sport Pack

    Thanks

    Pawel

It might help if you tell us the year and if it is the front or rear brakes making the noise and if it happens with or without brake application.

    Hi Guys,

Sorry its an Astra 06 Plate and its the front brakes, it only makes a noice when brakes are applied but this does not happen always? Could it be the ABS sensors ?

    Regards

You need to check the condition of the pads for wear and if nessary replace them. If a caliper is seized or locking it might be turning on the traction control becuase the ABS senses one wheel going slower than the other.
