    Engine/Exhaust Emmissions warning light

I have a 1.6 53 plate astra club and had a bit of a nightmare getting home last night.....the emissions/engine light came on but just prior to that the car was almost spluttering to a halt when at 40 mph and finally cut out when I approached a r/about and put my foot on the clutch to change down.
Was fine 3 hours later as the light went out. This morning though the light returned.

Is it a sensor problem, catalytic convertor problem or electrical problem? Has anyone else had similar problems....please help!!

    Thank you

quite possibly one of the stupidest replies ive seen for a long time

first off mate - you need to read the ECU to see if theres a code stored for the emissions light

heres how to do it: http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/sh...78&postcount=2

Once we know the cause then we can advise on the best solution

    Is it a 8v or 16v?

Could be something as simple as EGR, Coilpack, crank or cam sensor....

Follow the link above then take it from there
