    helicopter crash in northsea

    well did u all see it on the news??

    im currently onboard the etap oilrig and i can tell u that all survived and they were very lucky.it was due to land here but crashed less than 500 metres from here.

    baz, i have just seen it on sky,it did not say what platform it was going land on, i to work offshore its a terrible thing to happen good job everyones safe, when are you due off?

    well u will see footage of bp jigsaw helicopter onboard here.
    im due to be interfielding for the next week to the mungo/galaxy1 from here but i think bond will suspend flying for aday or so.

    gte i did not see the crash but i seen the rescue and u just feel so helpless cos its so close but there is nothing that u could do to help

    i can only guess what its like baz, but i understand the being helpless bit, the main thing is everyones safe, were the lads in the life boats very long

    they were in the boat for almost 2 hours. took an hour for the first helicopter/boat to reach them

    I to work off shore and was just about to ask the same thing,
    Normally a standby vessel is close by for landings.
    Which operator did it come from was it from aberdeen.

    bp platforms no longer have individual standby vessels, they have Regional support vessels that cover several platforms, i was wondering though how it took the Jigsaw chopper 45 mins to get there?
