using GPS and listening to music at the same time

hi i have just got a new head unit with GPS Sat nav on it but i dont seem to be able to listen o music at the same time as using. does any one no if thre is away of doing it. looking on the internet there was something about using aux speakers for music and car spaekers for sat nav vocie. do you thin it would work? this is the headunit i have http://www.xtrons.com/doce/productdetail.aspx?pid=37
An other thing is that it isn't keeping the radio stations when turned off is this cause it's not connected to a constant live.if so how do you do it my last headunit which was a aftermarket vauxhall VDO CR 441 XED just plugged in and worked.
    cheers Dan

That looks to be a bit of a obscure headunit mate so doubt anyone else will have one

I know every other make of headunit i've fitted you have been able to listen to the radio or cd behind the sat nav

Could be your permanent live and ignition live are the wrong way round, this would clear its memory every time you take the key out?

Usually ISO connectors are prewired with the permament live and accessory live the other way round to the way vauxhalls are

They should have bullet connectors in for making them easy to swap around
