    Can I repair my MAF?

I've been getting error codes from my MAF,
My computer tells me that the temperature sensor works, but it can't detect the air flow anymore...

Does anyone know if this can be repaired/cleaned?

or how much one from Vauxhall with a trade discount would cost?

No idea about repairing it mate but a replacement from Vxl using TC is £72.69+VAT (part number 90530463)

Theres a variety of ones on ebay - some OE - some cheap aftermarket shit - some bargains though so have a look and see

Dont think they can be repaired.

What engine do you have and I will look up the cost
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

Thanks everyone, after a bit more looking around and I've got a Z18XE engine.
Cheapest I've found is about 30 quid, with genuine parts being twice that...
With performance and reliability being more important than cost,
Whaddyall reckon I should go for?

It's part of a bigger picture really, you've dealt with cone filetrs before so maybe you can help:

I've got a Pipercross foam Cone filter that needs oiling after cleaning it every year or so.

I've heard that the oil can pass through the MAF and get stuck to the contacts causing them to fail.

If this is likely to happen, should I:
    A) go with a 30 quid MAF and replace it every 18 months ( cos of the filter )
    B) Go with the £65 MAF cos OEM parts will last a bit longer anyway
    C) Go with the £65 MAF no matter what cos the oil and Cone filter story is a load of Bollocks?
