    Price of first service?!?

Phoned up my local Vauxhall dealership yesterday to book my car in for it's first service, was expecting to have to break out the lube (IE around the £250 mark).

However i was pleasantly surprised when the guy on the phone quoted £125-130

Is this normal pricing for a main dealership or have i just caught them on a good day

First service is only an interim service i do believe!

The next one will be a major one and then it will cost you £250-300

It varies from dealer to dealer as there hourly rate is different.

Ring round, you may get it cheaper.

No I haven't. It's booked in for the 28th Feb, didn't ask about price though.

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

Just phoned my dealer and it's going to be £160, so that sounds like a good deal to me Paul.

Sounds about right, dependant upon your local dealers labour rates. Next one will be near the £200 mark.

the first service on my cdti 1.9 cost 144 in march last year - it sticks in my head because they forgot to charge me until a few months later (the car is picked up and dropped off)when i got a pleasant phone call asking me for the dosh ;0P anyway the second one is approaching and i have the figure of 175 written down, however on another forum(cough) is a guy that works for a vauxhall garge in cheshire which is about 30 miles from me and is offering (genuine) cut price servicing for members and a second service including brake fluid change is 125, the saving from this im putting towards cruise control - while this is to far away for you to take advantage of i think it shows with the crunch its worth ringing round and possibly travelling a few miles ?

I did get your service offer letter but thought it may be a bit extreme to travel 600+ miles for a service
