    Headlights for my Mk5

    Can anyone point me in the right direction to where i can buy the headlight bulbs for my Mk5 Astra which, when on have a blue/purple tint?

    I think the new mondeo has these bulbs.

    hi mate, noticed your in the same area as me!! do u mean HID's? they come in projectors which at some angles can look very blue e.g. on the new mazda's

    if not, then there are plenty of ebay shops, halfords etc that will sell Xenon look bulbs which will be slightly bluer/whiter.

    Thanks matey, will check that out..not sure which ones but the HID's sound the ones

    well if its HID's you are after, loads of us on here have them, including me and they are pretty bright! the ones you see on most modern cars!!

    the only thing with the mk5 is that they have a sensitive electrical system known as a canbus system, so a HID kit would have to be canbus compatible, theres loads of info on here, give the search button a hit and it will return loadsa bits that will be helpfull for ya! HTH!

    Thats great thankyou for the info....I must admit im fairly new to mods on the astra.At least im in the right place.

    like jake said, if your going for HIDs make sure they state they are canbus compatible, and unless you spend a fair bit of money on them they are not always "guaranted" to work, have had that problem before but managed to sort it.

    Also if you do decide on HIDs, then projectors are a good idea too.
