Water pump with Cambelt. Bother or not bother?

Is it worth changing or leave it. There's nothing wrong with it. Is it easy to do once the cambelt has been done, should it fail?

ALWAYS! as soon as you disturb the belt you disturb the seals on the pump. for little extra cost you might as well do it. plus if you do it at a later date and you aren't doing it yourself you've got extra labour costs.

Trouble is, its not little extra cost. It adds another 108 +VAt to the bill.

If it fails in a few weeks or months, you'll be paying another £260 + the £108 for the pump.

Is it the 40k or 80k? If 80k it would be crazy not to change it IMO.

I got my water pump for £21.78 and my cambelt kit for £48.37 (Gates). I have always changed the pump with cambelt as its just one of those things that you should do imo.

These are vauxhall quoted prices from eariler. They didnt even suggest changing it. But i am a partner so they will be discounted. So im expecting it to be around £300 quid. This is the 70k one as i had it done at 30k for free under warranty. (knew someone at vaux)

I always have the water pump changed with the belt. Safer option for the sake of 25 quid tops.
