    Engine cooling malfunction

These lights came on today. Cooling fan is running all the time and engine temperature gauge does not work. I checked the fault codes and there was code P0115 = engine coolant temperature sensor - circuit malfunction. I tried new sensor, but it didn't help. Whats wrong?

Possible wiring problem or even worse (but more likely) coolant control module at fault

I think it's the coolant control module. I'm going to check it tomorrow.
Is it the same module in all Astras?

Sometimes coolant light go off, fan stops and temperature gauge comes back to life again, but after a while lights come back. Does this tell something?
I didnt check that coolant module because its -12 outside at the moment

Hi! guys i'm also having a similar problem, the coolant light stays on all the time and the fans are on all the time. I have changed the temperature switch three times now and the light is still on and the fans are blowing like crazy, sometimes when i'm driving it would just loose power and show the engine light until i disconnect the camshaft sensor and reconnect it again. Then the engine light goes off but the coolant light stays on all the time with the fans blowing.

Possible wiring issue to the temp sensor? Does the temp guage work on the car and do you have 1 or 2 fans on the car

I have that on my car as well. Mine is normal though cos I've got an aftermarket fan fitted. Whenever the fan kicks in the coolant light comes on.

The other problem could also be the aux coolant pump. Can't remember the code I had on mine but it was similar to the one posted on previous comment.

Oh and this was on my coupe btw

Is the temp sensor connected on your car?
