    888 - Detailed.

Anyone whoever sees the car will think "It's always clean & shiny", which is true, but after talking with my mate at work, I decided to give the T8 some attention.

I went to my mates house at about 9am and he let me use his pressure washer, lance & snow foam.

    So I started with that:

After having had it snow foamed, I decided to leave my mates and took a few items of his that I needed to use. Top marks to him for letting me lend his equipment etc.

I then went to my special car cleaning place and got on with the task at hand.

Now I was so busy cleaning that I didnt actually take pictures of the "progress" but as you can guess, there was some applying of products, removal of products, spraying of products and alot of arm ache!

So, in order, this is what I did.

    Bodywork

    Snow foamed the car,
    Rinsed the car,
Washed the car with Meguiars NXT Gen wash,
Dried the car using several microfibre cloths,
Applied some Meguiars Deep Crystal polish with a Meguiars foam pad,
    Removed the polish,
Applied some Dodo Juice Lime Prime with a Meguiars foam pad,
    Removed the Lime Prime,
Applied Dodo Juice Blue Velvet hard wax with a Meguiars foam pad,
    Removed the Blue Velvet.

    Wheels

Cleaned the wheels using Meguiars Hot Rims,
    Rinsed the wheels,
Cleaned the wheels whilst I washed the car with a Meguiars Wheel Brush,
Applied SupaGuard Wheel Protector and wiped clean with a dry cloth,
    Applied Meguiars Tyre Shine.

    Interior

Applied Autoglym Interior Shampoo to the front & rear seats, steering wheel alcantara sections, parcel shelf & alcantara door card sections.

Applied Armor All to the dash, door cards, steering wheel face, centre console and anything else that was plastic.

    Other areas

Applied Meguiars Gold Class trim detailer for the mirror surrounds, front Irmscher grille, rear bumper insert, door seals, petrol cap seal, spoiler brackets, windscreen wiper arms, aerial, scuttle panel & window seals.

Applied Meguiars NXT Glass Cleaner to the inside & outside of all the windows, wing mirrors, headlights, tail lights & interior mirror,
Applied RainX to the outside of all the windows.

Applied Meguiars Speed Detailer to the engine and surrounding areas.

Applied Meguiars NXT Metal Polish to the exhaust tailpipe.

Applied Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish & Meguiars NXT Gen Wax to the chrome boot strip.

I only have the "after" pics, so here they are:

I'm not a professional valeter and the photo's don't do it justice. It was a very shiny car when it was finished though and I didn't use a machine polisher.

    Time taken - 7hrs approx.

    Cheers.

    Good results Scott.

One thing for future reference though is that Lime Prime is a paint cleaner, so when you apply it it will clean off any polishes or glazes applied before it, so there was no point in doing the Megs Polish. You can use polish after the LP, but personally, some of the best results I've got are going straight from a paint cleaner to wax.

Doesn't take anything away from your effort though.

I haven't got the bottle to check, but IIRC the instructions said it should be applied after the polish has been applied.

To be honest, I thought the same as you, however there are two Lime Prime's, one with and one without abrasives, I just assumed this one allowed you to apply polish first.

Yeah Lime Prime Lite is the one without abrasives. Not sure why they'd say that on the bottle, tis a bit odd.

I cant find a pic of the back of the bottle, maybe I read it wrong. No idea, I'll have to check next time I see a bottle.
