    Coilovers,Springs,Originals

    Hi all,

Ive just had all my brakes installed (grooved and drilled mtec with mintex pads) aswell as having new tyres which has cost me the best part of £400 and when garage were fitting the rear pads (i did the front brakes but couldnt be bothered with the rear) the bloke said i have a broken spring :'(. Now i spoke more to him finding out how long i can drive on this as i have a trip for valentines day order planned.

Basicly im gonna risk it for the weekend but need help with the next decision.
I have a choice in what i do, i can either find 1 coupe se1 rear spring (nightmare i guess) or buy 50/30 eibach springs (would cost more to fit) or buy the raceland coilovers.

Baring in mind the coilovers and the eibach springs are the same cost and the cost for fit would be less for coilovers due to not having to compress 4 springs.

Im a bit worried about how hard the ride might be as ive not had experience with coilovers but want to drop the car anyway about 50/40 ish

Any views? Money is appreciated too

The ride wont be any worse than if you just change springs, so you might aswell get coilovers. At least that way you can adjust the height.

Im soo happy. The fitters must have been useless! The "crack" turned out to be some outer casing of the spring. Nothing wrong with them! Will be looking into suspension though just maybe not right this second.

if there's a split in the epoxy coating on the sring, i'd clean it up and treat it as now there's a window for all kinds of shit to get in.

that spring will rot through in no time
Coupe now being broken for parts
