    engine flush or not?

hey folks i read on a post on here somewhere that you should only use wynns engine flush on certain cases as its possile to block up the oil pump.

this is the first oil/ filter change i've done on it so would like to give it a good clean out.

well i just stuck the engine flush in for 15 mins then let it completely drain out for over an hour or so. didn't have any crappy oil so just stuck the 10w40 semi-synth in seems ok. will check today for any leaks as it was getting dark last night.

the only problem is even when you drain the out engine flush the residue that is left in there contaminates the new oil and then thins the oil out
ie breaks down the lubrication properties = premature engine wear

several people have said to me that basically not all carbon deposits are bad, some are plugging up holes that might otherwise leak oil etc and are best left alone. Key to a well running car is regular servicing. IMHO don't use the engine flush.

PS if anyone wants it, I have a bottle Forte Motor Flush for £5
