Riskoe's MK4 Astra Sport. A work in progress.

Hello all! Steve aka Riskoe here to ramble on about my progress with the G. This will basically serve as a nice way to keep track of the progress I'm making with my car, and hopefully be a fun read for many of you! (I for one love reading these journals )
Anyway lets crack on! I own a 1999 T reg 3 door 1.6 16v Astra Sport in Polar sea blue.

I bought it last year back in July if memory serves correct for 1500 quid off a dealer. 2 previous owners but rather high mileage at 80,000. He assured me it was mostly motorway miles, however he also assured me the car color was called "Spectrum blue" so looking back on it he might of just been trying to get rid haha.

Anyways had no major problems with it yet, save for a few small ones which I will highlight later on.

So this is how I got it. Picked it up and immediately got some pics.

This shows the only real problem with the car, it had (and still has) a small dent in the boot, but this is getting fixed soon hopefully.

My old car on the left and my new beauty Goodbye 1990 Escort, hello Astra!
And a nice rotten numberplate This came off pretty much straight away.

So we were ready to get started with the "Mods" ha...

The first thing was to debadge it. WHich was done on a cold day in a Halfords car park. Used a butt load of white spirit and got them off finally. Huzzzah.

So yeah that was a bloody fun time

    ANYWAY!

Back on track. I came back to my car after leaving in a car park whilst I was at the gym to discover this!

Big bloody dent and scratch down the passenger door. Not a happy bunny at all.

So after a very angry ciggarette and a cup of tea, I decided to go down to Halfords and get something to try and polish it out.

After T-Cutting it, I discovered the silver paint was transfer from the other car, NOT my bare metal work (felt awesome learning THAT I can tell you!) and managed to get it down to this:

Much better but the dents still there and the scratch can be seen, really bloody annoys me when people do this and run off. Grrr, anyways more to come.

So after getting that dent somewhat sorted, my good friend Adam and I decided to have a full day of car cleaning planned out. This also was the day my new grille arrived (yay!) so I went there to fit it on as well.

    Grille fitted

    And nice shiny paint work

    Bloody dents still visible though

Unfortunately as I was later to find out, my battery was completely messed, so after a few hours of listening to music whilst we sorked it went dead, and we had to jump my car just to get it home.

Next was a new air filter, no pics as of yet, but I will update them later.

I then decided to paint my bump strips. So after a quick trip to Halfords and about 30 quid later, I set about painting them up.

Not too bad considering Ive never sprayed anything before. I will get them redone properly courtesy of Maskell, when I get my skirts and handles colored as well.

I then decided I wanted to put a new head unit in, as I was using this stadard one, and it was on its way out.

So I replaced it with this shiny job, from once again my friend Adam, for a tidy 100quid including an old sub. (This proved trickier than I thought)

And after a whole day of trying to fit the sub, but to no avail, I decided to call it a day, and its sat in my room every sinse. Really need to get it fitted at some point.

So whats next, ah yes, got myself some tints sorted. 180quid for all 5 windows and they did it in under 2 hours. Very impressed.

    Lovely job

A few weeks later, I came out from a resturant after having a family birthday gathering for my cousin to discover this

Some little shit had snapped it off and done a runner with it.

That really annoyed me, and I only just got a new one yesterday! Bloody thieves.

I then decided to show my love, and get a nice AOC sticker on my rear window, as my membership pack never turned up.

    Right enough on that,

So on Tuesday, Adam and I decided to remove his stupid bloody stickers hed had put on his Corsa "Dark Knights" =\

Went over there at 9am and got them off sharpish with him.

Adam getting handy with the hair dryer lol .

Ready for a damn good clean.

    Sparkling I thank you
