Hi I am new to the club and a relatively new Astra owner - purchased an 02 convertible back in August last year (60k miles). Great car, even found some nice days to enjoy it with the hood down! All was well but it has recently developed an obvious knocking from the front suspension, more obvious at slow speed (side roads, pot holes and the dreaded speed bumps). Had a service yesterday and had the garage take a look, thinking it was probably a worn suspension bush or similar. They advise the noise is coming from the steering rack????? The steering feels fine, smooth and drives in a straight line, no wandering etc. The noise is there even when driving in a straight line. Can't beleive its the rack! Any thoughts or similar experiences?
