Right, I've decided to do a bit of a test with the VXR into the difference between regular unleaded and super. The petrol of choice is Tesco. I get relatively good mpg out of normal 95ron unleaded, driving sensibly and economically. I've noticed a dramatic increase in mpg after just 2 tanks of 99ron. I've done some calculations based on prices and mpg, here's what I found;
Tesco 95Ron: 13.8 pence per mile, based on a pump price of 84.9p per litre.
Tesco 99Ron: 12 pence per mile, based on a pump price of 89.9p per litre
I drive about 15,000miles per year. Based on this, and the difference in pence per mile, my annual fuel bill is reduced by £270
