Time for an upgrade/downgrade depends how you look at it

I currently own a 2007 black 3dr sxi, with irmscher bodykit etc, been modified, but after someone broke into it and stole my dvd player head unit, i lost faith in her.

so im selling her to pay the finance off, then buying a mk4 gsi, in the very popular colour of arden blue, which works out cheaper than the new 07 plate one i currently own.

I do love this car but i want some more speed and a 2 litre Turbo is right up my street, plus i love this car so its downgrade in year but upgrade in engine lol.

    Good idea?

Can't figure out how its cheaper for you?
Depreciation says you won't get back enough to pay the car off from finance.
Then you have the cost of your GSI onto that.

Personally i would have thought your 07 plate is a much better bet.

it works out cheaper a month if i take out a loan, which i hate doing but, it does work out better, plus i cant get insured on a vxr so the gsi is the next best thing, confusing i know lol

    LOL,
So it's cheaper repayments a month but overall total will go up?

The Z20let would be good if you get a good example with low mileage as then you could put some vxr parts on to get the power up.

Personally though with running costs in mind i'd probably opt for the mk5.

i down graded froma MK5 150 CDTi to a 1.8 petrol coupe, then upgraded to a coupe turbo, i missed the MK5 so much i now have a VXR.

The MK5 are a huge improvement and such a better car.

what engine do you have in yor mk5?
Astra VXR - Arden Blue, Diamond cut 19's, Cruise Control, Debaged, Folding Mirrors, CD70 NAVI and CID + Aux-In, Factory Bluetooth, Piano Black Interior Trim, Full Milltek Unresonated Exhaust
