    Annoyed - not again

went to local exhaust place to have the backbox fitted - cant be done yet, need to cut a bit out of my bumper to make it fit.

    I didnt mind that -

i noticed that one of my rear spring's has snapped at the bottom again.

Last time is was drivers side, now passenger side, even tho i replaced both of them on the back last time.

    Not happy...

at the moment there the stanard -20mm ones, ive had some bad roads around here this winter, and ive hit a few holes.

were the sping starts to coil in to grip the rubber, that bit has snapped, which means now, if i hit something really hard now, it might bounce out completely.. not going to be good.

Ive just lookin in my room, and found a spare spring, ill get it on as fitted as possible.

Very odd that one of the new ones has broken.

Not really, it's a known weak point on Astra's.
Not helped by the fact that Vaux will only supply them in pairs and that a pair from Vaux is more expensive than a set of 4 basic aftermarket lowering springs.

The drivers side rear needed replaced on mine for the MOT last year. Thankfuly the garage was able to replace just that one and not have to charge for 2.

Common problem on a lot of Vauxhalls. My Mums Corsa needed both back springs replacing at its first ever MOT!!

Which is why I went for aftermarket springs when my two rear ones snapped in this exact same place...
