    Strut brace

Ive bought a strut brace from ebay, the instructions tell me to drill 2 holes on the top of each strut tower to bolt the brace onto,I'm not 100% confident on fitting it myself incase I screw something up.
I asked a couple of mechanic friends if they'd fit it for me,but as soon as I mentioned drilling into the strut towers they said no way as its a structural point and could weaken the car.

Is this correct,if so can the brace be welded rather than bolted?

Has anyone had any problems after fitting a strut brace?

you can weld them in. i'd just not fit one as the strut towers are joint onto the bulkhead meaning it has enough strength. strut braces are meant for cars where the struts sit forward of the bulkhead and therefore dont have as much strength
