    Astra 1.6 2001 Club Estate

This is my mothers', personally I have a Corsa :P The interior heating on my 1998 Corsa is powerful and very warm. The Astra seems very weak in comparison, even at setting 4. You can barely feel anything coming out of the windscreen vents. Is this normal? Can someone please tell me whether the force of air coming from any vents is strong. Thank you.

For the record, I can hear changes in tone as I move the vent-adjuster (so flaps seem to be working) and the fan itself sounds loud at 4.

Oh, good question. I didn't even think to look at that. I'll get back to this thread in a day or two when I've checked it out. Thanks for the reminder!

Well Padiwan, this depends on the setting of the fan speed and location selector.

If you select '4' and the demist setting, the force should be strong.

Alternatively, the pollen filter makes good sense.

Interesting, it might be the filter after all. I just took it out (hands are freezing btw), gave it a good bash about, put it back in - I can't get another until Monday perhaps. While it was out I put the fans on and it was blowing a fair blast out of the hole.

Oddly enough, the vent power near the windscreen hasn't increased since I took it apart and checked the filter...but the heating now works a lot better. Doesn't make sense, but there you go.
