    Astra MK4 vs Citroen ZX

I bought an Astra MK4 after owning a Citroen XZ. The Astra Mk4 drives look and feel is more or less like a modern car, it was quieter faster, prettier with a quality feel that made the ZX feel outdated.
Both workmates, when giving them a lift feel, agree my Astra is better in all departments. When asking one, ‘Do you think the ZX had softer ride’, him say,’ both of us gave you our opinion, it is like you want to hear something different.’ (Told a lie to please me)

My mother on the other hand says she feels more bumpy(especially over road-humps, pot-holes and shite roads), less relaxed then with the ZX, however the seats were more comfortable as they go right back leaving more legroom.

Generally though am happy with my Astra

Lol,I had a zx too before I bought my astra,I found the zx was slightly better at cornering thanks to the passive rear wheel steering, but was riddled with crappy wee problems!

Like Kev says, never again lol,the mk4 is just so much superior,I will never touch a french piece of junk again, gonna stick with astras now!

    There's a reason for that...

cos it is a more modern car!!
    Gaz

    No longer owns an Astra

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

This is the only pic I have of my old wallet drainer:

Took that pic before I had the windows tinted, the day before I picked up my astra the bloody handbrake cable snapped when I pulled it on a hill at traffic lights, not the best of timing for that to happen!!

As touched upon - i had silly problems with mine

My first was a Citroen AX. That was crazy with the faults. I wont even go into it.
then i replaced with a Citroen ZX which i got for free (well, i paid the remaining tax). Had it for around 16 months i think at a guess.

After a bit, the passenger footwell was like a swimming pool due to the heater matrix going. It used a LOT of water in all my time owning it. Electrical niggles etc.
Was decent on fuel, no matter how hard you ragged it (& it needed to be ragged!!). Absolutley zero rust which was nice. Head gasket went in the end, so i said sod it.

Replaced with a 1.6 Escort, then a 1.8 TDDi Escort & then the Astra.

Astra is by far the best car i've owned & as has been said, the first 2 citroens have really put me off Citroen. I'd never have another, even though the newer ones may be perfectly fine for all i know.
