    oil leak from breather pipe

    Noticed sum oil round the side of the rocker cover looks like its coming from the breather pipe ( courtney sport ) are these over time subject to leak noticed that the color also has distorted.

    the colour fades within a few weeks think its due to the oil itself

    sure its not the rocker gasket itself?

    clean the area if u can with carb cleaner/petrol and a cloth and see if u can trace the leak

    will double check also notice condensation on pipe sum times pipe been on for over 2 yrs? not blocked or full of oil.

    yes we mean CAM cover

    but still often commonly called ROCKER cover even if it isnt technically speaking

    Most people refer to the CAM cover as the rocker cover! Go into vauxhall and ask for a rocker cover gasket they'll know exactly what you're after!

    Unless the hose has got a special lining (the name of which i can't remember right now) then it will eventually become porous and leak oil so it seems thats whats happened to yours.

    there are no rockers in there and thats crap coz i work in vx dealer and got 30 yrs experiance and yes ok they use to be rocker covers but that was in the dark ages before overhead cams,suppose you still got wing mirrors on ya car and not door mirrors, the parts bloke might know wot ya on about but when he goes out the back prob thinks wot a div your be surprised wot ppl ask for and we have a friggin good laugh behind them

    Door mirrors,lol. I got wing mirrors, and i still call it rocker cover same as the rocker gasket. Each to there own tho.

    true just makes me laugh wiv not the corect name lol you got a wireless in it aswell lol gettin back to thread its more than likely the pipe gone pourous or clip loose as the oil gets inbetween where it is cut
