    Problem with headunit

    Hi all,

Just bout an ACT and loved driving it all yest but decided today i was going to sort the headunits out.

The ACT had a Sony unit in it and my Astravan has an Alpine unit which i want in the ACT. Whipped the Sony one out of the ACT and the Alpine out of the Astravan to swap... When i put the Sony one in the van she worked straightaway like normal.. Although when i put the Alpine in the ACT, there was no power to it and it wouldn't turn on?

Theres a diagram of whats what on the alpine unit and the Red wire being called the 'Switched Power (Ignition) Lead' lined up with the Red from the ACT wiring loom, although the Blue off the Alpine being called the 'Power Antenna Lead' lined up with a double connection... there was a grey (i think) and a red/white lead going into the same connection?

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light onto what i need to do?

    Cheers,

    Nick

Check all the fuse for the radio, both on it and in the fuse box. Get a mulimeter or test light to be certain

The blue - red/white and grey is totally normal

You may have to swop the red and yellow wires around on the head unit ISO block. Or check Fuse 21.

Auto sparks was right, the switched power fuse had gone and the guy before me had bodged the 2 power leads from the back of the headunit so they were both goin to the constant supply, meaning the thing stays on all the time!!
