    Z20LET Fault codes.

    P0530
    P1490 or 1499

Can anyone tell me what these two codes mean? My car was running well, then today I got home from work, sat in the house for a couple of hours and went to go out and I had the light with a radiator and fan on it and also the car with the spanner.

    Thanks.

Thanks mate. Why would these codes make my radiator be dead?

Has anyone had these codes before and if so what is required to correct them? I phoned my VX dealer today, they didnt have a clue what an A/C Refrigerant pressure sensor is. I did get an Auxiliary Cooling Pump Relay though, put it in and it did nothing.

    Any help appreciated.

    Got the same problem

    Hi.
I have the exact same problem right now. The codes mean the auxiliary coolant pump. Mine is seized. When this happens it will blow fuse 39 and your radiator light and the other ecu light thing come on. If you replace fuse 39 the lights go out. But this only works until the car gets to sufficient temperature to turn the cooling fan on, then the fuse blows again and you get the lights.
Apparently the Aux coolant pump (little thing like a fish tank pump under the battery tray) only comes on after the car has been switched off but the engine is still hot. However it is obviously in the same circuit as the main radiator fan because when the fan switces on it must "make the circuit" that also contains the aux coolant pump. You can check this out by running your car and see if the fans ever come on (mine don't). If I give the aux coolant pump a good skelp with a hammer it starts running again and the fuse doesnt blow, but after a while it seizes again. VX want over £100 for a new pump, but I have been told it can be opened ( I can see four screws to open it) and cleaned. I am going to do this tomorrow on my day off. Will post pics if all goes well.

I tested it by putting in a new fuse then bridging the aux pump relay terminals to make the complete circuit, I couldnt hear or feel the pump operating so I have ordered a new pump. £77.85+vat from VX (PN 9120117). I am fitting it tomorrow so I will post the outcome.

Hi I have the exact same warning lights up. It goes into vauxhall tomorrow to get it looked at. I'll see if it's the same problems everyone else seems to be having.

    Thumbs Up

    Hi Guys,

Thats me just finished changing my pump, also changed the oil and filter, the plugs and removed and cleaned all the breather pipes. I now have no lights on the dash and the cars running a dream . If I ever have to do another aux pump i'm sure it would be easier removing the battery and getting it from the top, I went from below and through the wheel well and it was a pain in the arse.

Keith-W/Turnero, how did you guys get on with yours?
