if light is already on then theres 2 things you can do

    1) have the light reset using TECH2 at Vauxhall

    2) Remove the LED from the instrument cluster

Note that removing the light (thus having the light theoretically still on) then the SRS circuit may not fully function correctly so any other airbags that may be fitted and seatbelt pretensioners may not work as they are supposed to

Nothing illegal in doing the above or fitting a non-airbag wheel

A lot of ppl will say you are removing a primary safety feature but this is not true - Seatbelts for instance are a primary safety feature thus compulsory - Airbags are not. The name alone (ie SRS) Supplementary Restraint System means they supplement the compulsory ones as an added extra - so removal of them isnt illegal.

I would still advise you inform your insurance though - this could however have a negative effect if they deem it dangerous etc.

Anyway legal jargon out the way - if u want an aftermarket on then your best bet imo is the remove the LED - you could try bridging the terminals behind the wheel with a small inline fuse - i tried this and the light still tripped - if u do bypass it, then ensure all other airbag connections are secure - ie under seats etc - then have a TECH2 @ Vauxhall to switch it off - its gonna cost 40-60quid tho!

    Each to their own

i have the same problem on mine because the seats arent the originals which has confused the system hence the light. I looked into changing it but for the effort/money couldnt be bothered but its completley legal to remove airbags as said above. The airbag only really helps in high speed crashes where if you didnt hit the airbag you'd endup with a mouth full of steering wheel instead. at low speeds it often actually makes things worse (if youve been hit by one before youll know what I mean) so I wouldnt worry about it tbh

If you take the light out it could still fail because the tester won't see it do a self test when they turn on the iginition and it will fail for it anyway.

    Just so your aware.
    Its a jam thing
