    Whirring noise when cold?

    Hi all,

I have a really noticeable whirring noise when I start the car from cold, It doesnt seem to be related to engine speed (pitch/tone does'nt change if the engine is revved), and seems to dissappear after the engine has warmed up!

Any ideas / should I be worried or is it a normal noise? I originally thought it was the EGR valve but after some searching on here it appears the Z20LET doesnt have one!

    Any info would be appreciated!

    Thanks

I would appreciate that Zaffi thanks, It sounds as if its not to much to worry about then I was initially thinking water pump or oil pump but would of thought that would change pitch with engine revs!

    Thanks for the advice!!

It is, which is why the noise doesn't increase with rev's
