    Oil Cooler Leak???

    Hey guys,

Small issue here, i'm lately loosing alot of oil (1 litle 1000km).
I also got a nasty oil smell in my car....

Now i looked to see what it is and found out that there's lot of wet oil on the oil cooler.

Does anyone know what this could be?

I will post a picture lately so you all can see it.

just a guess...in Latvia many car suffering from freezing breather pipes (recently -20 C)...pressure is so high, that some oil is going through cam cover gasket, leak on turbo, and other hot engine parts..also lot of oil can burn in cylinders too. have this problem recently..also burned oil smell in car...
if there is oil in coolant..than head gasket is broken...or there is crack in head.

Hey PLB, Thanks for your reply.

However my head gasket is not broken nor is my head cracked.
I already found out in other forum that there is a possible bad connection towards the oil cooler...

The rubber hose is not good anymore.

I will try to find this out tomorrow and let u all know .

I had the same problem on my Astra 1.7 TD. The leak was on a pipe going into the oil cooler. The oil cooler was removed and bypassed pending fitting of another one. Front bumper has to be removed to get to oil cooler. Ebay are good for spares like this. I'll be buying one shortly and fitting it myself. If anyone out there has any tips for me then it'd be much appreciated.

The problem on mine is that it goes from metal hose to rubber then to metal...
And betweern those metal rubber connection it looks like its leaking there.

I will post a picture about this issue lately.

I wonder if more people had this problem?
