Is this VXR an easy fix?

Iv seen this vxr up for sale, its a cat d write off... Is it an easy fix, and how much do you think it would cost? New bumper/wing/rad etc etc

Also how much would it be worth fully repaired, 55 plate with 35k miles.

Looks an easy fix if its just cosmetic and you have the skills to do it yourself, expensive if your paying a bodyshop to do it though, or if there is hidden mechanical damage?

Has the door bent out, or is the wing just bent in?

Iv not seen the car in life yet, but might view it on saturday.

I think the wing has bent in, well hope it has. Not sure on mechanical damage, but would imagine that would deffo need a new rad and ac rad

Is there anything else mechanically to look out for?

all the air bags have not gone off, so they are ok, just the front damage

Suspension damage? Though wheels look straight. Damage to the sump, exhaust, turbo?

Depends what happened. It if drove over something, which is what it looks like from the low down bumper damage, it could have caught the exhaust hard pulling on the turbo?

Doubt they would have wrote if off, if it was just a simple job of replacing bolt on body panels like bumper, wing and headlights?

Looking at the bonnet to wing, yes the wing looks like it has been bent, but to me looks like the chassis leg has been knocked back. with the age of it and the car thatit is, its got to have mechanical faults tobe so cheap ( as buckle said)

Also could have knocked the inner wing.

Dont think its going to be as easy as you think, if your planning to buy it, repair it, and flog it again, if it hasnt taken the chassis leg, then yes it will be a lot cheaper, even with new "mechanical parts".

Hope you got a good mate, or know someone with a body dozer / jig

If you get it, keep me posted =)

All depends on the true extent of the damage, you cant tell that from a picture. You would really need to check what damage there is to the under-side of the car and any mechanical damage i.e. radiators etc.
Also that car is (or was) mega dear for an un-repaired accident damage car, has been for sale for a while now, car origionally belonged to a member of VXRonline.

imo take a mechanic with you or someone that knows about repairs etc

If it was me id take a couple of guys i know (brothers) one does engines and one does bodywork etc
id show em and see if they would take it one between them .. if the answer is no i'd prolly not go any further with it .. unless they were planning on buying it themselves and fixing it up lol

i would love to get a car this way especially a VXR or something but i know that i dont know enough to go and buy a wreck

It up NE Motor mate, priced at £4,800 but wouldnt offer near that If i ever went for it, £4,000 max I think.

It all goes down to what would a cat D VXR be worth? You can pick one up in mint condition on a 55 plate for 9-10k now
