    mk4 astra 2.0 16v starting problem

    hi i was hoping someone could help me a mate of mine has got a vreg astra 2.0 16v sri, it sarts and runs for about 2-3 seconds then cuts out but starts again straight away and does the same,if you give it some throttle it cuts out a bit quicker, he has had a tech 2 done on it but didnt bring up nothing there are no engine lights on or flashing they r all working as they should any help would be appreciated many thanks beau.

    Alternator? Battery is fine, starts the car OK, but alternator runs the car once started so that would explain why it starts but then stops...

    fuel pump relay (big purple ones in engine bay relay box) is my suspicion

    maybe faulty so it lets a little bit of fuel through just enough to start then stop....
    blocked fuel filter?

    try the paperclip test see if theres any codes stored in the ECU
