Just heard on the news that 1000 jobs are being axed!! Jesus, whats next
i think its gonna be the way of things to come
i notice that the government keeps saying "it costs more to sack someone than you think" as in future cost etc of retraining
but if its a choice between sack a few people to keep the company alive or dont sack anyone and go in to administration so everyone ends up jobless
i know which one id chose as a boss
at the end of the day you may get rehired by them once things turn around
if noone sacked anyone in this climate .. we would have alot of dead companies and that would result in the recession going on forever!
its the same as "expert" economists from the government saying don't save money as we need money to return into the businesses
without savings the back bone (be it a bloody weak back bone) of this country i.e the banks would have nothing the lend to anyone and would collapse!
another thing i didnt know until recently is that
Northern rock and other banks are repossessing homes with a hard fist (or so the news papers tell us
but the reason for that is because the governments bail out money that was given to the banks has a hefty 12% interest on it !
so ofc the banks are acting quickly and not giving chances .. because they want to pay back the government as fast as possible..
this government are full of empty gestures! everything they do at the moment is poorly thought out
i complain about this party but tbh none of the others will/could do any better
cameron is all for show as well .. the smug *******
its still just the tip of the iceberg IMO
Thinking that myself...wonder if they'll be affected?
I am glad I left the place when I did, that was just before the 3rd shift kicked in at Nissan. It's a shame it's happened, I just saw it on Sky News in the link below...
Aye its a bummer. My driking bud works there, and he is down to 2 days a week until april.
Losing the 3rd shift and running two 2-day shifts apparently.
They ain't happy that the jobs at the Spanish plant are safe, when its them thats dragging them down.
