    Newbie needs sound help :)

    Right sorry to sound like a full on gomper, but I just got a 07 Sporthatch

    and want to upgrade the sound system.

    I dont really want to spend more than £500
    I was thinking of keepin about £150 of that for a A Fli Twin 12" subwoofer box.

    Basically, what do i need to get.

    Halfords ( to my regret ) is the only place locally i can get anything really, and don't want to buy anything complicated online as i wont be able to fit it myself

    Whats the best i can do with the money?

    Thanks in advance

    i assume u will be changing the stereo?

    you will need..

    * the correct colour facia
    * wiring harness
    * CD player (ideally with 3preouts, or at least a dedicated subout)
    * amp wiring kit (sumtimes comes in with the sub box deals)
    * sub in box
    * amp

    Just incase u didnt know VIBE make "fli" and "edge" stuff. the price order goes: fli, edge, vibe (sum useless knowledge u might want to know)

    do u really want twin 12s? or would u settle for a single 12 (if it was good)?

    was it this one that you saw... http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...Id_165748#dtab

    if so all ull need is the wiring kit (and id suggest u bout a 4awg kit rather than the 10awg that it might come with).

    just a quick one, dont limit yourself to halfords only, all stores do home delivery for a few quid. can pick up good bargins on sites like caraudiosecurity, newcarhifi, cel-direct etc.
    just saw u said about fitting it yourself, tbh its easy enough and i wouldnt trust half the staff at halfords to fit my audio (sorry if anyone works there thats on here, but the ones near me are all monkeys and have no idea how to setup amps without having voices coming through the sub)

    what kind of music do u listen too?

    £500 would go way WAY further than Fli stuff - I used eBay for a Fli 800S amp, 10" sub and Fli components for around £120. I had nothing like £500 to spend but I'd look at everything before spending if I did

    Anything Halfords sell will be online much cheaper!

    I have a 12inch Vibe Black Air Evo 2 Sub and its immense mate, really bassy, really punchy, and a navsure flip out sat nav(halfrods own), all that together cost me ( inc fascias and adapters) about 400 quid.

    Brilliant set up
