    60mm lowering springs on standard shocks ?

    any advise ?

    right ok, did have a slight feelin it wasnt right but thought id ask..
    guessin the springs wud be just 2 small to fit right?

    There' possibly that, and the fact that you'll be asking the shocks to oscillate around a point they weren't designed to work around.

    Plus you'll be asking them to work faster over a shorter distance, to absorb increased forces. In short, you'll kill thme much quicker than you would with standard springs

    Best bet is to get shocks that are matched to the spring rate/length, you'll be OK then

    ok will do, thanks for that

    its just a recently bought my astra without an mot.. its lower than 40mm down, but stuck my head underneath for a look and its standard springs that have been chopped.. so they are comin off for sure.. just for the mot puposes, would they fail it if i leave them on? (for being standards cut down) (just until mot is out the way when i have enough cash for a good shock kit?)

    More than likely, not sure how they'd cut them without making them dangerous.

    Its reccomended that any lower than-40mm & u should upgrade your shocks.

    i got 60/40 gmax springs and shocks and mine bottoms out if im not carefull would hate to think what standard shocks would do to your car
    being that low

    I lowered my old clio on -60mm with standard shocks and that seemed fine
