    Question DIY Mirrored/Smoked Rears

Been toying with these, which are basically second hand units sprayed up, but for £100 when i have 2 perfectly standard lights just seems a bit too much too me, but i do really like the Mirror and smoked look. Is there a cheaper DIY method to get a good deep mirrored finish on my exisitng rears? Or will it look DIY and rubbish????

Seen those on eBay. There's a seller, not sure if it's that one, which tints plenty of car rear lights

Anyway, sriTaff has a shot up of his self tinted rears which look quite smart. To me they look just like those in the link.

I've seen some others which look like a cheap version of the smoked. So i'm guessing if you're going to tint, then the only answer is a full on tint, otherwise it could look quite cack.

Hi SRiTaff. I saw your rears in another post, i wanted them but missed out too slow . Once you spray them can you polish them to get it more shiny or doesnt it work like that? Also how many coats did you do, im assuming the more coats the darker it goes? Thanks for the info too

Ye m8,the more layers u do,the darker they go.The amount of layers u do all depends on how dark u want 2 go.If u do 2 or 3 layers @ a time & leave 2 dry (only takes about 15-20 mins) then hold the light unit up 2 the light (window etc...) with back of unit facing away from u 2 c how the light comes through.Once your hapy then spray a few (3-4) layers of laquer on 2 them. You'll b fine 2 polish them & they go shineyer but u wont really get them mirror shiney.Mine in that pic of my car had'nt been cleaned or polished 4 a week.

A tip as well, when u spray them, have them stood up. (iv done a set lying down & the tint ran,but when i did some stood up they were fine).

    Good look m8 .
